Allison masterfully combines deep understanding of the human body/mind with an extraordinarily kind and loving presence to bring balance, health and renewal to those of us who feel stressed in our everyday life. Visiting her over the years has brought me amazing levels of relaxation, self-knowledge and healing. Allison is a supportive friend who’s warmth and welcoming blesses everyone.

Allison is a healer in the most pure sense of the word. She is sensitive, intuitive and wise. Her knowledge of the body—its physical structure, dynamic energies and delicate physiological balance—is unparalleled. I have recommended her to a wide circle of friends and colleagues. Over the years, she continues to be universally loved and respected, and always gets rave reviews. For me personally, Allison’s skilled hands and vast heart have helped me become more whole and integrated in powerful and astonishing ways.
-Pam Weiss, Founder, Appropriate Response
A trusted friend of mine recommended Allison Post to me. At the time I was in pain, under the care of an eminent gastroenterologist, and in need of relief from both my physical discomfort and the accompanying emotional distress of illness. Allison brought her deep and multi-disciplined approach to each healing session; I especially benefited from her healthy respect for and understanding of 21st century Western modalities as she applied many Eastern practices of integral (whole person) healing. I found Allison to be personable, professional, and intentional. She resolved my health issues, healed my spirit, and educated me so that I now have my own self-healing practices. She’s a gifted healer and a gift to the world.
-Diane Woods, MCC, Founder of Partnering with Life.
Allison’s work has transformed my life. Through her extensive knowledge of the anatomy and acute intuition, she has literally re-trained my body. I now breathe in a whole new way, have much better digestion, and a whole lot more energy. I can’t thank her enough for the gift of health and quality of life.
-Greg Hicks, Co-author, How We Choose to Be Happy
The students who’ve studied with Allison over the years beautifully reflect her excellence as a teacher. There’s an outstanding quality about them, which I believe to be a direct reflection of her work. I highly recommend Allison as a practitioner and as someone who can distill the essence of a training, enrich it by her own considerable experience, and convey it in an exceptionally articulate way.
-Helen Crozier, Craniosacral Therapist
I am so grateful to have found this amazing book. Its deep wisdom and loving guidance have helped me to journey deep inside. This work is showing me the way home, and empowering me to know I have access to that inner source of transformation at any time. I’m the one I’ve been waiting for!
-Vivienne Verdon-Roe, Ph.D. (hon.) Academy Award winning film maker.
Allison is one of the most gifted, sensitive, attuned and effective body workers I have encountered. She has a loving presence and her knowledge of craniosacral therapy is exceptional. Your body will be most happy when you have the privilege to work with her.
-Mark Coleman, author of Awake in the Wild.
In her lovely articulate way, Allison takes you step by step through working with the breath and then gently massaging the belly in very specific ways that release tension and create space for your visceral organs to function optimally. This practice has been pivotal in helping with my digestive/elimination issues. Also, I feel empowered to change my well-being through softening my belly, expanding my breathing capacity, and more fully occupying my body every time I give myself a session . . . which is often.
-Coralie Eddy Murray, Craniosacral Practitioner
I have been sharing your great book with the women of Mirasol, which is a residential eating disorder facility in Tucson. I am doing craniosacral work there on the residents, and moving into Unwinding the Belly work with them. It is wonderful and so helpful. Thank you, Allison , for shaping my life and helping me to live exactly the life I cherish.
-Charlotte Holste-Reilly, ABT
I have started doing the mp3s with some regularity and I don’t know exactly what’s happening or why, but there’s a big opening that feels directly related to the breathing and the exercises. It certainly brings me to a very open and present place, but more than that, it feels like it has a kind of staying-power, like something really deep and important and abiding is happening. It almost feels like a practice…in some ways more powerful than my daily sitting.

Health is a great gift. When you lose it to illness, you need wise and capable collaborators to help you navigate the challenging terrain of healing. Allison and Stephen are two such masters. Their grounded presence and skillful embodied touch help each person access the deeper healing wisdom inherent in the body. They have been central in my healing process, and I’m profoundly grateful to them both for their generosity and skillfulness.
-Sara Hurley, Diamond Approach Teacher
I first came across Allison and Stephen’s book Unwinding the Belly in 2008. At the time, I had been suffering from digestive problems and abdominal pain off and on for several years, and these problems had been becoming worse, despite care from a doctor. I worked my way through the book, and after several weeks of practicing the breathing and touch techniques I was so impressed that I contacted Allison. Her response was warm and caring, and she told me about an upcoming workshop. In the workshop I learned more about massaging my own belly, helping others, and was introduced to qigong. After, Allison very kindly gave me a one-on-one session that combined belly work with craniosacral therapy.
I was helped so much by their book that I sought out Chi Nei Tsang practitioners here in New York to continue my studies. In 2012 I took part in another of Allison and Stephen’s workshops, this one with more emphasis on self-practice. Since then I have continued daily practice, often using the audio program, Skills of Embodiment I to guide my work. Unwinding has become a spiritual practice for me; one of self-care and discovery. I see the links more and more between my digestive comfort, what I eat, stress, and the emotions I am experiencing. And I have made changes in my life accordingly.
I’ve also been able to help several friends who have complained of belly discomfort, and have gifted them copies of the book and audio. Things keep getting better and better.
